The Funky Monkey Bar

The Funky Monkey Bar is owned and run by Simon who comes from the South West of England, and his Thai wife Jig.

The Funky Monkey is a chilled out and relaxing bar on Soi Nitapat just off Prajak Road in the centre of Nong Khai, and is within easy walking distance of many of Nong Khai's hotels and guest-houses, and only 500 meters from the Thasadet Indo-China market.

Opening hours are from 10am until midnight daily, for beers, spirits, soft drinks and coffee. Quality Thai food is available from 10.30am daily at very reasonable prices. There is a wide screen HDTV showing all the major sporting events from the cable networks, there is also a free 'one for one' book exchange (English books only), and free Wifi is also available.

In Soi Nitapat you will also find other bars such as Happy Bar where English food is served, Lan's Bar, Nee Bar and Tex's Bar. There is the White Inn, a new hotel that only opened in November 2010, and the even newer Nong Khai City Hotel which opened in  June 2011, there is also a hair and beauty salon, a man's barber shop and a clothes shop.
